When deciding on a word for the year I kept being brought back to these 2 verses: "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” 1 John 1:9 "Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:58
As my social media presence grew in 2016, the enemy kept telling me that what I was doing was useless. He kept whispering "Why continue? You're not making an impact. People don't care about God. See, that thing you were trying to do failed. You might as well throw in the towel. Fitness people don't talk about God." I knew better. I knew not to listen. I knew that he was trying to keep me from shining my light to the world. I still struggled and feared backlash for what I was posting. I still had doubts of my ability. But I know that it's not my by strength, but by His. I know that it's going to courage to face those fears when I want to give up or hide my light. I know that He is with me in every post, every run, every program, and every time I communicate with you all. It just takes courage to keep pressing on and shining bright.
